Kaduna: ‘Mistrust amongst citizens, cause of insecurity’ – Isa Ashiru

The Kaduna State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Hon. Mohammed Isah Ashiru, has said that mistrust among citizens of the state is one of the reasons insecurity has lingered.

The governorship hopeful spoke during an interactive session with reporters at the secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State council. This is even as he promised to address the security challenges of the state holistically if elected governor in 2023.

He also promised to partner with Journalists if elected governor in the 2023 election to ensure press freedom, stressing regretting that journalists have no freedom in Kaduna.

Ashiru said partnering journalists has become imperative because they contribute to the development of the state and the nation in general.

The governorship candidate, who also spoke on policies and infrastructural plans he would put in place, if elected, also unveiled a 5-point agenda on his electioneering campaign, which includes: Security, Agriculture, Education (science and technology), Health, Youth and Women Empowerment.

On security, he said: Mistrust among citizenry led to insecurity in the State. A situation where one part of the State dominated the other will be a thing of the past if we come to power.
